The 2026 Australian Backcountry Festival was held from Friday, August 28th - Sunday, August 31st. The unofficial theme of the festival was ‘low snow, high vibes’, and even though the lack of snow meant Mt Hotham resort closed for the season in the days following the festival, over 250 stoked backcountry frothers made their way to Hotham to learn, tour and connect with the community, and we certainly made the most of the conditions!
